I am interested in know what other Actions you would find useful for when an Alert triggers?
For example, I am looking into adding an action of "Dial Phone #", so that you would be able to do things like setting up an event alert that when docked, will automatically phone a special number that will transfer all your mobile calls to your office number (since you are now back at your office).
Another idea is to be able to open a file and/or launch a program belonging to that file. This might allow you to start playing an MP3 as a wakeup alarm.
So, let me hear your ideas!

Definately both of those ideas sound great! Especially opening an app on request. That way I could set an alert to take details of a meeting, and have my calendar app open & waiting! Or maybe to open the profiles settings, so you could change to silent mode or whatever. & playing mp3's as alarms would be cool.

Drblow, I love that Idea. John, if you could some how make an alert with action of change profile, that'd be great. I.E. At 8am set profile to silent. at 12pm set profile to outdoor. etc. Don't know if it can be done that way, but it's a great concept, and one that I've heard people asking for many times.

Keep the ideas coming
But, I want to get the current version out the door before I go out of town next week. So, I will figure out what other actions are possible and add them in a future update to Alerts!

Not sure if it's an event that can be checked, but.....
Would it be possible to detect when a new SMS has been received and is unread and then alert every 'n' minutes until you read it (I don't always hear the incoming new message alert - or if I do and i'm busy, I forget about it ). If Alerts could beep or scream at me every 5, 10 or whatever, minutes then I'd remember to read the SMS!!
Alerts is already a great, must-have application for SmartPhone users, so any new features can only make it even better. Can it make coffee?
Mark.

Hey John... another couple of events I wouldn't mind being triggered on...
Plugged in, unplugged and fully charged. All of these would help
out with power management... I've had a couple of times when I'd be
away from electricity for a while and have found myself waiting for the
phone to get a full charge before taking off with it.

I've an idea regarding to the plugged things above: An action to change
the backlight to always on and back to the previous setting.
Plugged in -> Backlight always on
Unplugged -> Previous setting
Other action ideas:
- reset/reboot the smartphone
- turn power off
- switch flight mode on/off (with PIN otion)
- disconnect or deactivate gprs
